BEES OF MARIN COUNTY

We are conducting the first formal inventory of bees of Mt. Tamalpais and comparing the patterns in diversity we see in core habitat sites to sites located on the wildland-urban edge, while also assessing the affect of flammable fuels management on bee diversity. The inventory currently includes sites within the Marin Municipal Water District, Mt. Tamalpais State Park and Marin County parks.

Get involved and volunteer at our next bee pinning party through One Tam!

THE GREAT SUNFLOWER PROJECT

The largest citizen science project focused on pollinators with over 100,000 members.  All over the country citizen scientists are collecting data on pollinators in their yards, gardens, schools and parks by taking counts of the number and types of pollinators visiting plants. We have been gathering information on pollinator service since 2008, and now have the largest single body of information about bee pollinator service in North America.

Learn more about it here.
